Facilities Services will perform a phased Light-Emitting Diode (LED) lighting upgrade to improve energy efficiency and lighting performance on the first and second floor at 3375 Hillview
A Light‑Emitting Diode (LED) bulb produces light more efficiently and with less heat than traditional bulbs
This project aims to replace fluorescent lights with LED lighting to improve Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and comply with California's 2025 ban on fluorescent lights. The upgrade will not only provide significant energy savings and reduced maintenance costs but also enhance lighting quality and support environmental sustainability goals
The work will occur on weekends only during approved after-hours periods from Saturday, October 10, 2026 through Sunday, November 8, 2026
The work is scheduled as follows (see floor plan):
Saturday, October 10, 2026 through Sunday, October 11, 2026: first floor upgrade, phase 1
Saturday, October 17, 2026 through Sunday, October 18, 2026: first floor upgrade, phase 2
Saturday, October 24, 2026 through Sunday, October 25, 2026: second floor upgrade, phase 1
Saturday, October 31, 2026 through Sunday, November 1, 2026: second floor upgrade, phase 2
Saturday, November 7, 2026 through Sunday, November 8, 2026: second floor upgrade, phase 3
Occupants may notice lights being temporarily turned off in localized areas while lamps are being replaced
Only 1 lighting switch zone will be turned off at a time to minimize disruption to building occupants
The building will remain open and operational during the work
2 parking spaces adjacent to the maintenance parking area will be temporarily reserved for LED lighting supplies for the duration of the project (see parking lot map below)
