Facilities Construction vendors are scheduled to perform the scanning and installation of racks, cables and conduits for the outside plant (OSP)
Outside Plant (OSP) refers to all the physical infrastructure and equipment located outside of a building or facility that supports network connectivity. It typically includes:
Cabling: Fiber optic cables, copper cables, and conduits installed underground, aerially on poles, or in ducts.
Supporting Structures: Poles, towers, trenches, handholes, and manholes.
Passive Components: Splice closures, cabinets, pedestals, and distribution points.
Active Equipment (sometimes): Remote terminals or network interface devices placed outdoors.
This work will support future outside telecommunications for the new medical office building adjacent to the Redwood City Pavilions.
